Charco’s journey towards creating meaningful solutions began with an inspiring lady named Ruth, and an invitation to a Parkinson’s UK Peterborough branch coffee morning in early 2019.
In this blog, Ruth shares the daily struggles faced by individuals with Parkinson’s, especially when time becomes a pressing constraint. She highlights instances where a lack of awareness led to unfortunate misunderstandings and encourages others not to hastily judge or assume but rather to extend kindness. Also, in a society often unaware of diverse ailments, she emphasises the danger of presuming to understand someone's struggle without knowledge.
Ruth's story is a powerful reminder to be aware, withhold judgement, and practice kindness.

The Remarkable Dr. Parkinson: A Career
charconeurotech.com
Parkinson’s is named after the first person to recognise it as a distinct illness – Dr. James Parkinson. He was not just a good doctor but a keen scientist, political reformer and philanthropist.
Charco is preparing a Clinical FAQ video for better support for using the CUE1 and CUE1+. :)
With Dr. Mackett and Nurse Nicola from Addenbrooke's Hospital, we had discussions and received clear answers regarding topics frequently asked about the CUE1 by our community members.
As we launch Season 2, we have gathered every day to brainstorm and find better solutions for supporting individuals managing Parkinson's. At Charco, we firmly believe that support not only from the device itself but also from Charco and the broader community is crucial in enhancing overall quality of life.
Please bear with us as we share the clinical FAQ wit#CHARCO🙂#cue1a#medtech1#innovationI#medicaldevicei#parkinsonsParkinsons

Team Charco has been working with people with Parkinson's with the aim of bringing back smiles to the faces of individuals with Parkinson’s. We've spent that time listening, learning, and developing technology.
This has culminated in the CUE1 and the CUE1+, a non-invasive wearable device that uses a combination of focused vibrotactile stimulation and cueing to help alleviate the movement symptoms of Parkinson's, such as slowness, stiffness, and freezing of gait.

💌 Sharing important news about the season 2 🙂
Dear Charco Community Members,
We hope you have been keeping well.
We are pleased to provide you with some important updates regarding our forthcoming Season 2 launch.
Since Charco was created in 2019, your support has been crucial in developing the CUE1, our first device. Our initial aim was to make it available as soon as possible to improve people’s movement, confidence, and quality of life, and we had an incredible opportunity to learn about the range of benefits that the device could bring to people with different symptoms.
As of today, there are more than 3,200 people using the device day to day, and as we reflect on our progress, we feel honoured to begin Season 2 and make the CUE1+ available from the 17th April 2024.
As gratitude for your patience, support, and incredible belief in us, we would be honoured to celebrate the start of Season 2 together with yourselves, and gift an adhesive pack with every CUE1+ to everyone on the Season 2 waiting list who has signed up before 17th April, when we commence delivering the CUE1+.
Since closing Season 1, we have focused on improving the quality of our support, and enhancing your experience with Charco.
✅ New Customised Motor:
The CUE1+ will have a newly implemented motor, more suitable for vibrotactile stimulation, and improving device lifespan and reliability.
✅ New CUE App 2.0:
The CUE App 2.0 will have a new design, community section, and platform-like infrastructure where we will be releasing additional features in the following weeks/months.
✅ Expanded Colour Option:
The CUE1+ will be available in the original navy colour, as well as in our new Mocha colour, enabling you to personalise your own experience.
🔸 CUE1+ Pricing
We will deliver the CUE1+ in line with the waiting list in place, and in our ongoing efforts to deliver the best possible quality and service, the price of the CUE1+ will now be set at an RRP of £795.
CUE1 pricing was originally set for the purpose of gathering feedback and insights from our valued early users. As we grow, this adjustment allows us to continue the clinical research, maintain sustainability and the level of support, and progress on our journey with you.
🔸 Continued Support
For current CUE1 users and future CUE1+ users in the UK, please know that our commitment to supporting you remains our utmost priority. We're here to assist you every step of the way.
For people in the US, we have now completed the initial steps towards FDA clearance, and are focusing on the ongoing processes. This will not only allow us to reach our community in the US, but will also help expedite approval in other countries.
Your enduring support has been the driving force behind our development thus far. We are looking forward to the next phase of our journey, and maintaining this close connection with our community as we continue our mission to bring more smiles to you and your loved ones.
Warm regards,
Team Charco

We are truly honoured to be featured in this article by Parkinson's Life, discussing the invaluable role of technology in improving the quality of life for people with Parkinson's.
Back in 2014, Lucy worked on a project designed to help people with Parkinson’s through tech – when she was suddenly diagnosed with a benign brain tumour. Inspired by her own experience, Lucy founded Charco with her team, with a commitment to creating tangible solutions for Parkinson's management.
At the heart of Charco's innovation lies the #CUE1 device, a wearable technology designed to alleviate Parkinson's symptoms through vibrotactile stimulation. From freezing of gait to stiffness, the CUE1 brings relief and support, bringing back smiles to individuals like Elaine Payne, who shares her feedback in the article, emphasising the importance of individualised approaches in Parkinson's care. Dr. Alistair Mackett speaks about the device's efficacy and safety, as well as its potential as a complementary tool in Parkinson's treatment.
As Charco continues its journey, the focus remains on enhancing support for the Parkinson's community. Through ongoing research and a patient-centric approach, Charco aims to unlock new possibilities and improve the lives of people with Parkinson’s.

The CUE1 is a wearable device designed to improve the quality of life for those with Parkinson's. Inspired by Lucy's personal experience and observations, the non-invasive device delivers vibration stimulation to manage symptoms, drawing from 19th-century neurologist Jean-Martin Charcot's findings.
Clinical trials have demonstrated positive outcomes, including improved walking and enhanced fine motor functions. With user feedback, today, Charco hopes for regulatory approval to make the CUE1 accessible for prescriptio#parkinsonss#healthtecho#innovatione#CHARCOo#wearabledevice##NationWorldNewsNationWorldNews

“CUE1 beats, CUE1 you can touch it, talk to it, place hope in it that your next years of life will not be so terrible, that it will allow you to walk among the trees once more, that it will allow you to see the sunshine on the path one more day on one's own feet.
This is what CUE1 represents for Cándido; that is why when he said goodbye to me yesterday at the door of his house he cried, of hope, of gratitude, with immense and deep gratitude to your team, i.e. Charco Neurotech, who have reestablished "HARMONY" for a few months or years almost lost.” - Francis
