Job description:

We are looking for a new Software Engineer who can contribute to the growth of Charco. You will mostly be working fully remote, or be within travelling distance of Cambridge, UK.

What set of skills are expected from you

  • At least 2 years of experience in software engineering and at least 1 year of experience in developing apps and shipping user-facing features with JavaScript and modern, component-based JS frameworks like React / React Native.
  • Understanding of the best practices in front-end architecture, including performance, security and usability.
  • Familiarity with product and design life cycles, and collaborating closely with designers, engineers, and product managers.
  • An undergraduate degree in Software Engineering, or related fields, is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate in English is required.
  • An interest in the medical field, particularly in Parkinson’s and a desire to help improve quality of life for those with long term conditions, is beneficial.

What you will be working on

This role will be about building delightful user experiences and scalable frontend systems to make Parkinsons’ management more efficient and enjoyable. You will be working with the internal team to build interfaces that are simple, easy to comprehend, performant and reliable using modern tools like React, React Native, Typescript, and Redux. You will work with a range of team members, including the design team, medical professionals and firmware engineers to offer a comprehensive service. We are looking for someone with demonstrable critical thinking skills and an eye for detail.
